IBIZA
Ibiza is and was the ideal place for creative people
and artists to reflect, to discover new things, to find new directions,
to live and work. To focus, to concentrate and to enable in emptiness
to find stillness and go and find new ways with renewed energy.
Artists like Haussmann, Micus, Bechthold, arquitects
like LeCorbusier, Sert, Nouvell and Souto de Mours, writers like
Walter Benjamin or Martin Suter were and are inspired by Ibiza.
The Ibizans, as has been proven recently, carry the
genes of the Phoenicians, who settled on Ibiza as early as 700 B.C.
and developed Ibiza into one of their most important trading posts,
dedicating it to the god Bes.
The Romans, Moors and Arabs all brought their culture, knowledge
and thinking to the island, which can be noticed daily up to the
present day.
The declaration of World Heritage Site, by the UNESCO of the old
town of Ibiza shows the respect and value it has generated.
Part of the whole are also the cultural movements of today, the
many types of self-awareness groups, Yoga centres, the hippy culture,
travellers, dropouts, but as well the Club Community, which all
make Ibiza a vibrant place, that does not want to be just a tourist
destination or a museum. The unique scenery, the rich flora, the
pure air, the campo and the coast with more than 40 beaches show
Ibiza as a nature paradise.
Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera, our venue, was planned
by the Phoenicians as an intersection and a settlement in the centre
of the island with energetic power. The small village is a cosmos,
where more than 40 different languages are spoken, a real "
global village ".
